Here are two great language learning opportunities for you!
- CHINESE BRIDGE SUMMER CAMP FOR U.S. HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS by Confucius Institute at CSU (REGISTRATION IS OPEN FROM 2/10/2016 TO 3/15/2016)
- Chinese Speech & Essay Contests–2016 for OHIO K-12 by Confucius Institute at CSU (Date: Saturday, April 16, 2016/Location: Cleveland State University Main Classroom Building/Registration Deadline: Friday, March 18, 2016)
The deadline is approaching, but try your best to see if you can apply for them in time. Great opportunities for you. If not, consider to apply for them next year. For the summer bridge study in China, three chaperons spots are available for application, if selected, they get to go for free!
For the speech contest, here are two websites you can find native speakers to volunteer to edit your writing by simply posting it at one of these websites:
- The Mixxer–Language Exchange for Everyone: Here you can also ask people to edit your writing.
- My Language Exchange
If you find time to write an essay and audiotape it and submit it for this contest, I will allow you to skip the reactionary paper for the Chinese movie and you can also earn additional 15 extra credits for your quiz score. For the detailed criteria/rules for the speech contests, go to Chinese Speech & Essay Contests–2016 for OHIO K-12 by Confucius Institute at CSU (which I posted above).
Hope you will take advantage of these two opportunities to win a language award and to go to China to learn the target language and culture!
