Support for High School students for Language Study

U.S. Government Programs:

  • American Youth Leadership Programs
    The American Youth Leadership Program is for participants from the United States to travel abroad to gain firsthand knowledge of foreign cultures and to collaborate on solving global issues.
  • Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study Abroad Program (YES)
    This program offers scholarships to American high school students to spend the academic year abroad in countries that may include Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mali, Morocco, Oman, South Africa, Thailand, Tunisia and Turkey. The program focuses on increasing understanding between people in the U.S. and countries with significant Muslim populations.
  • National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) / NSLI for Youth
    Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, this intensive language immersion program provides merit-based scholarships for high school students to study abroad for a summer or an academic year and learn Arabic, Chinese, Persian, Hindi, Korean, Russian, and Turkish.
