Revised Syllabus for Year 1 Chinese
April 6 , 2020, Monday
Hope all of you are well. Starting from this week, I will hold two office hours each week, and one virtual class each week for every class. These meetings will be done via Zoom. To have zoom meetings, you just need to click on the above link and provide the password given above. Please take advantage of the office hours to get additional help. Anyone who is willing to make a consistent effort these following 6 weeks still has opportunities to improve their grades. I also encourage everyone to attend the virtual class to get some oral practice with the language and some instructions from me. (I will record the weekly classes and make them available to students who can’t attend.)
Office Hours: Zoom Meeting at 1:00-2:00 pm, Every Tues & Thurs
Virtual Class Time: 1:00-2:00, every Weds

(The Zoom Classes will be recorded for students who can’t attend and recordings will be made available at my website.)
It is important that you keep up with all your work and extensions can be made for special circumstances, but you must keep me informed. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you need any help. Again, please submit all the assignments in Jupiter by clicking on the green circle on the grades page and it will take you to a page where you can download your completed work for each assignment; there you can also share google doc link with me. It also has a window for me to see your work and at the same time, a box for me to give you feedback. Most of students are able to submit without trouble. If you really can’t make it work, then you can email me your work.

Instruction for this Homework: Please write L10D1 dialogue in Chinese characters, Pinyin on top of the words you don’t know, and English translation. The main purpose of this assignment is to try to understand this dialogue: learn how to say, write and comprehend this dialogue. Study them to the point that you can actually use them in a real-life situation.
