“The Diary of Anne Frank” is a well-known book based on a diary written by a teenager, Anne Frank. Anne Frank kept this diary while she went into hiding with her Jewish family to escape the Nazi’s persecution of Jews. This children’s literature is an excellent reading for Chinese language learners since it is written in plain language. It is an excellent read because through her intimate diary, readers come to a deeper understanding of how the holocaust has impacted her, her family and people surrounding her. It is also a book that gives us a window into the inner world of a young girl. Her coming-of-age experience will resonate with all of us who have experienced it or are going through it now.
I have also included the original movie of Anne Frank’s Diary as well as a more recent remake of Anne Frank’s Diary. Additionally, you will also find an audio in Chinese and a Chinese documentary on Anne Frank.
